Love is not a ‘many splendoured' thing, it is also multi-faceted. This album explores the many facets of love. It becomes a dream, sometimes a feeling, but here often it becomes linked to loneliness, of loss, of death.
Debut lyricist P. K. S. Nair and Appan Thachethu, who has written the introductory song, have created some moving images, scenarios that will haunt.
Venugopal's music blends with the lines and mood. Singers Vijesh Gopal and Rashmi Madhu, disciples of G. Devarajan, and Nisha Varma breathe life into 12 songs.
It is really hard to pick a favourite song off this album. A haunting introductory song, rendered beautifully by Vijesh, is all about loss and loneliness. Death turns a relationship even when it is a loss.
There are three more songs that stand out. ‘Kattaadi marangale kanduvo ningalen…' sung by both Vijesh and Rashmi is search for the lover who seems to have hidden beneath the gauze of memory, a lullaby ‘Ambilikombathu oru oonjalketti…' based on Abhogi raga sung by these two singers, and a Vijesh solo ‘Ente manasinte manimuttathu…' that is marked by some lovely images, soft music and sensitive singing stake claim for favourites.
